Ready, set, GO. It’s mango season! And the 13th annual Brisbane Mango Auction is sure to get people’s mouths watering. The symbolic first tray of mangoes will be auctioned off to the highest bidder and the lucky winner will be crowned mango King or Queen.
All proceeds from the auction will be donated to charities Diabetes Queensland and Life Education Queensland.
The Australian Mango Industry Association CEO Robert Gray said the Brisbane Mango Auction gets people excited for mango season.
“The mangoes are making their way down from Darwin to mango lovers across Australia as we speak. The season will really get started in November, just in time for summer,” he said.
“Mangoes are a part of so many people’s summer memories and traditions, so I hope they will not hesitate to dig deep and get in the running to win the symbolic first try, and all for a good cause,” Mr Gray said.
The Auction will be held tomorrow, Thursday 9th October at the Brisbane Markets in Rocklea from 6.45am-8am.
